Many of our patients have been asking us for the guidelines for when to do a Breast Self-Exam each month. There are a few things to know before selecting that
important day.
First, be sure to check your breasts on a regular basis, (i.e. once a month).
Check 5 to 10 days after your period starts so your breasts will be less tender.
If you are no longer having periods, or are pregnant or have irregular periods, pick the same day of the month.
You may want to select the date that you were born, or a date that will be easy to remember.
Do not check more often than once a month, as you might miss a change that is developing slowly.
If you forget to check, don't worry; simply check your breasts the next month.
Mark the day you feel is best on your calendar...or wait until you receive our monthly Love Note!
We send our monthly "Love Note" approximately the same time each month because we care about you and your breast health.
Please take a moment and put this reminder on your calendar. If you have a question on the proper way
