Breastnet converted to digital mammography in January of 2007.
The digital image contrast and detail, in fatty and dense breasts,
is spectacular and the studies claiming analog was as good as digital,
were looking at earlier generation images because the "digital is
overall as sensitive as analog" seems to be a major understatement.
We very rarely have to do additional magnification views for
calcifications and no longer have to perform as many additional
compression views to distinguish true masses from overlapping
fibroglandular tissue. This translates to less patient anxiety
and less radiation.
Our screening and diagnostic patients, as always, have any necessary
workups at the time of their appointment precluding the need for additional
visits and all the patient anxiety that it causes.
Thank you for your support of Breastnet. If we can make the
service to you and your patients better in any way, please let me know.
