We are very excited to announce that Breastnet
has successfully made the conversion to
digital mammography! Because we pride ourselves
on being at the forefront of new technology
in the breast health arena, we knew it was
time to make the conversion.
What does this mean to our Breastnet patients?
The advantages for our patients are many:
The time in acquiring the images is shorter
The images from the digital machine are instantly transferred
to a high-resolution monitor, where they are reviewed by our radiologists
The image reviewing work station is state-of-the-art
A computerized 2nd opinion process (CAD) is automatically provided - we no
longer have to do it manually
The images are incredibly clear and sharp
The time in the dark room is eliminated because there is no need to develop films any longer
Because calcifications are easier to see, we rarely need to
perform additional magnification views
Even though the compression process is the same,
if there is a necessity to repeat an image
due to motion or positioning, it can
be done before the technologist leaves
the exam room and the patient
doesn't have to wait.
If it is time for your mammogram, it will
be done with this new technology
as we have been fully operating with
digital for almost 3 weeks.
